What We'll Do At Your Event
Arrival, set up and soundcheckPlease have someone to greet us as we arrive at your venue so we know where to a) park the van and b) find the stage/area we're performing in. Once we have met with the venue staff/event manager we'll unload the van of our gear to the performance area and begin to set up. Load in usually takes us, with good access, half an hour. Allow up to 1 hour if access is difficult. Having set up our equipment and tuned our instruments, it's time for sound check. This is where we test-the-sound to check our sound levels in the room where will be playing in. It is important to do a soundcheck to make sure we have a good balance (you might here us call it a good mix) of each instrument AND to troubleshoot any problems we may come across, e.g. SOUNDLIMITERS. Please read this blog to learn more about sound limiters at venues and how they can effect your event. |
1st live set & breakAfter a meal, refreshments and a costume change, the band will be ready to come on stage. If you've opted for 2 x 60 minute sets, in our experience it is best to begin at either 8 or 8:30pm. A good jolly dance later and it's time for the halfway break. During this 45 minute interval one of the band will arrange for some background party music to be broadcast through our PA while we have a rest and refreshments. If you decide to upgrade to the DJ service, we'll have a band member man the laptop to take requests and even make announcements. |
After set up & soundcheckOnce we've checked our levels and made sure we're punching below the sound limiter's cut off point, we will have half an hour or so to eat, get changed and prepare to shake your party up! We think it's fair to say most professional function bands expect to be fed and refreshed during an event. We don't expect a celebrity rider; only a secure room, soft drinks and a hot meal. |
2nd live set & end of the nightWe take up our positions on stage, crank the volume to 11 and pursue to make the crowd go wild - keeping the dancefloor packed out! Now unfortunately, all good things come to an end... Having done our final hour set, maybe more if you've screamed loud enough, we'll begin to wind down the evening. If we're finished before midnight we'll stick on the laptop music until midnight arrives. After midnight, or the agreed time, we'll pack away our equipment as quickly and discreetly as we can, say our thanks and farewells and get back on the road - leaving your guests with the awesome memories of an awesome event! |
